EnRoot Home Delivery, a direct-to-consumer cannabis-delivery business with a focus on employing people from the community, is aiming to open in 2023, the company announced. Upon its launch, EnRoot expects bring 40 new jobs to 415 Blue Hill Ave. in Grove Hall, the neighborhood connecting Dorchester and Roxbury.

EnRoot recently received approval of its delivery-operator license and host community agreement, big steps in the licensing process. Now, EnRoot needs to be approved by the state’s Cannabis Control Commission, but it is pre-certified as a social-equity applicant and has priority, according to the company. Once that approval is granted, EnRoot can finish renovating the warehouse that will store cannabis products and where deliveries will originate.
