The Security Agent is responsible for providing security and safety to both the customers and employees of Rooted In. In order to adequately protect people and the dispensary property, security agents must know and enforce the rules and regulations set forth by Rooted In and the CCC, in order to discourage safety issues, prevent criminal activity and promote general order. While security is the primary objective of this role, interactions with our customers and providing a friendly, welcoming presence to all patrons entering the facility is also an expectation.
Authority & Supervision:
The Security Agent is required to monitor all points of access within the dispensary and to allow entry only to individuals with the correct identification or authorization. This individual will report directly to and be under the supervision of the General Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Check identification credentials of patrons as they enter the building, as well as verify proper paperwork, documentation and ID for customers during the check- in process.
- Answering the phone and responding to basic dispensary inquiries, as well as taking messages and/or fielding calls to appropriate dispensary staff members.
- Conduct regular security patrols to deter and detect unauthorized activities.
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies, taking appropriate actions as needed.
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect the property.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and evict violators from premises.
- Enforce security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with management to develop and update security protocols as necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of security incidents and provide reports to management and relevant authorities as needed.
- Attend team meetings as needed
- Undergo continuing education and improvement training programs paid for and facilitated by the company and any regulatory bodies when applicable
Qualifications:
- Must be over the age of 21.
- Preferred: 1 + years of cannabis retail, or customer service experience.
- Preferred: 1- 3 years security experience
- Outgoing / positive attitude
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and multitasking skills
- Maintains a detailed knowledge of software and standard operating procedures
- Ability to deal with problems and resolve in professional manner
- Passionate and knowledgeable about cannabis
Physical capabilities:
- must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs unassisted
