We understand that there are some issues when it comes to packaging in the cannabis industry – tight regulations require redundant packaging and excess waste. As we continue to form this new industry, we hope for more sustainability and better options, in the meantime, here are some ideas, crafty solutions and brands consciously making a difference.
Did you know, many of our product partners promote sustainability?
Like @loudgirlgoodies – as a craft, plant-based baker, Carolyn chooses to use a pouch for the cookies that are 100% compostable – including the label used. These biodegradable pouches are free from harmful chemicals & “Earth digestible”. The best practice is to remove any additional labels, the testing sticker or tags the dispensary may have added and compost it through a service traditionally offered by your municipality.
Or, Ahh Chocolates consciously sources Fair-Trade, single source, organically grown sustainable ingredients when possible as well as using post-consumer recycled packaging. Each individual action creates ripples, when the ripples blended together, we create waves.
Help us make more waves – what ideas do you have to reuse packaging?
We have guests who reuse their packaging! Glass or plastic flower jars can be repurposed into small, succulent pots – or if you are into crafts, you can use the jars to hold small items like beads.
