Sustainability: Roots – Recycle – Reduce – Reuse
Roots – Recycle – Reduce – Reuse
The cannabis industry has a packaging issue – tight regulations require redundant packing and excess waste. We are very limited in the ways we have to work against this but we do have some solutions and wanted to share some other ideas we have come across.
Did you know many of our product partners promote sustainability?
Like @loudgirlgoodies – as a craft plant-based baker, Carolyn chooses to use a pouch for the cookies that are 100% compostable – including the label used. The best practice is to remove any additional labels or tags the dispensary may have added. Compost it through your service, throw it in the trash or it can be buried in the ground “remove cannabinoid testing sticker before composting. biodegradable ouches free from harmful chemicals & earth digestible”
Or Ahh Chocolates who consciously source Fair-Trade, single source, organically grown sustainable ingredients when possible as well as post-consumer recycling packaging. Each individual actions, that create ripples, when blended together create waves.
Help us make more waves – what ideas do you have to reuse packaging?
We have guests who reuse their packaging – the glass or plastic flower jars and repurpose them into small succulent pots – or if you are a crafter, you can use the jars to hold small items like beads.
